We live in critical times for our planet, when the natural world and its ecosystems face destruction due to human behaviour. The way we live our lives (in the west, at least), endlessly consuming global resources, and the way we have organised our economies, based on the holy grail of endless growth within capitalism, have proved to be sure-fire ways to threaten not only our fellow Earth dwellers but indeed the very planet and our own future too.
I wrote this song to honour our Big Wide World, and celebrate the incredible wonder of nature, and why, just maybe, if we get out into the natural world and look really closely at what we've got all around us, we might just appreciate it more and the need to protect it.
Climate change is underway but environmental destruction is not inevitable - we can all help bring about change. COP26 is taking place in Glasgow in November...let's make sure our politicians commit to changing their ways too.
